Robin's Gourmet Veggies is located in Chapin, SC on Lake Murray.
It all stated when I was a child: My family would get together once a year and make bushels of spicy pickle beans. The recipe was passed down to me in 1998 when I began to make them for friends who encouraged me to sell them.
In 2000 I decided to go into business for myself, and Robin's Gourmet Veggies was born. Working with Clemson University and the South Carolina Department of Agriculture, I recreated my family's original Snappy Beans. The recipe passed all state inspection standards for preparation and content while retaining their homemade taste. One by one, I added other vegetables to my Gourmet Veggies line: Asparagus, Okra, Carrots, Brussels sprouts, Jalapenos and Garlic. I also have a dip.
In 2007, Robin was nominated for the Gallo Gold Medal Award for Spiky Asparagus.
Our Founder's Story Robin introduced "Zingy Carrots," "Zippy Garlic," "Spiky Asparagus," "Zesty Okra," and "Brussels Shouts" soon after getting the "OK" for her "Snappy Beans." Once people taste the unique quality of her products, they always seem to come back for more. You can share Robin's gourmet vegetables through gift baskets—she can custom prepare baskets of 2, 4, and 6 jars. Customers living in South Carolina particularly enjoy giving a made-in-South Carolina product. Robin enjoys bringing her products to fairs and festivals around Chapin, where she lives with her husband and 3 young daughters. She's a member of the South Carolina Specialty Foods Association and has shown her products at venues such as the South Carolina Plant and Flower Festival and Specialty Products from South Carolina Expo. |
